PageRank is a formula that allots a worth to each page in the Google index. Google displays search results based mostly on an algorithm which includes the value of PageRank. For each outgoing link a page has, the value of those links drop. So for instance, a link from a page with a PageRank of four, and only three other links, is more valuable than a page with a PageRank of five and one hundred links. So as you can see, there are numerous variables when working out PageRank.
