Google Page Rank Is Dead - Or Is It?

Directories & Google By Clare Lawrence fifteenth Aug 2004 Can lists in directories help my rank on Google? Google the number 1 search engine considers many actors in its ranking algorithm, firstly it considers the text content of a sites net pages and decides what theme it belongs to. Remember Google resolves internet pages and not sites, so if a list has a page satisfactorily devoted to your theme then it is worth submitting to. More we see NO consistency with page ranking in the slightest. A high rank of 6,7,8,9,10 is commonly held as something honerable to have for your website but does it truly matter? In some aspects it does and in some it does not. It ( did ) have everthing to do with "importance". Now why would they do this??? Easy , it's all about status. Eventhough selling mavens like myself weigh no significance on page ranking any more, there are still literally one thousand's of business folks out there that consider a high rank a nice thing. Building a great web selling foundation will attract precisely what you have been after. Should I pay or not? There are satisfactory free directories out there, so there's no need to pay. Bigger directories like Yahoo perhaps worth paying to list in as they can bring traffic in their own right.
